Items Needed for the Project

There are quite a few items needed to get this project going, for instance, in order to get accurate time and data logs another item would be easiest integrate into the system. Adafruit DS3231 is designed to keep track of RTC data using a battery so in case of power outage, it won't reset. If we integrate through pi pico alone, everytime the pico resets the log would reset to jan 1, 2021 12:01 etc..

I have worked around the above by coding an update on startup. Not really sure that part is needed anymore, but now that I think about it, would be nice to have a battery. Sometimes the pi doesn't update the time correctly on startup could be an issue.

So here we are, along with contactors, step ups, and few other miscaleneous stuff to get high voltage things going, here is the list.

Components Needed:

  • Raspberry Pi Pico W
  • Power Supply for Pico W
  • 8x opto-coupler 3.3v input and 10a 125vac rated switching leg. NO/NC
  • 2x Temp Probe
  • 1x Humidity Probe (Haven't coded this in yet now that I think about it)

Things needed to cut on and off:

  • Cooling
  • Heating
  • Humidifier
  • Dehumidifier
  • Lights

Later:

  • Water

Components Wanted:

  • 3vdc to 24v step ups / Possibly just use transistor with transformer/power supply..
  • 3vdc contactor? Ones I bought didn't work, wondering if there are working ones, or can just use transistor + extra transformer to power
  • 24vac contactor, would need to convert power from dc with transistor to power 24vac contactor, or opto coupler that powers vac contactor
  • 24vdc contactor, just transistor with power supply to power 24vdc contactor. MORE EXPENSIVE
  • Voltage converter, AC -> DC Converter (Can't remember what it's called this second)

Spare Components I may work with in stock:
