Plex Transcode .mp4 issue

Can ipad stream mp4

Pandorum 2009
**Hairspray x264 AAC 2.0
**haunted mansion (x264) AAC5.1
old x264 AAC 5.1
**norbit
Video
1080p (H.264)
Audio
Unknown (AAC Stereo)
**bricklayer (working) x264 codec AAC

none will play and all are mp4 files

adding file to playlist seems to make it able to be played.
Why this changes anything is beyond me

Does it have to do with plex collectionless?
Na, many movies in collectionless play. Is it movies that didn't get imported into collectionless and are collectionless?

Something about queue
.mp4 is loading now all of a sudden on pc. Not on mobile without throwing it in a playlist first. Even then, after awhile it will crash the server, if you continue to play the video from phone.

Bricklayer loaded fairly fast and it was a new movie added recently

Just installed plex-image-cleanup by meisnate12 who built plex meta manager.
See if it can cleanup the image directory some. About 200 gb currently.
it seems plex has to be off currently but didn't read that if you input certain env variables it would download remotely or sumn

Trying to setup tdarr on windows and server to just transcode all the movies that are .mp4 to .mkv

Transcoding with tdarr seems to let the movies work on iphone. It could take months to transcode all these movies though. 2k x 30 min a piece.

It would be much faster to download a more reasonable copy, or prevent these copies from downloading.

reinstalled, redid a lot like installed i7 8th gen. New mb. New air supply. New CLC/AIO for cooling. Doing better with not having music and other videos connected to plex.

I redid the database but it was having bad issues there for a sec. Not sure what happened to make it work all weekend. I did reconfigure minecraft server to paper instead of spigot. Few other things to optimize things like not sync music since we use navidrome. Probably set up another software like mediacms to keep up with youtube videos and such other video libraries like udemy playlists and such.

roadkill for some reason is x264 and still hevc type. Couldn't use http + mkv + hevc type together for some reason was the error.
